Fire at a motel in Michigan killed a woman and five children from the same family on Saturday, according to reports.
The adults were 26 years old and the children’s casualties ranged from 2 to 10 years, according to the WSBT-TV Police in South Bend, Ind.
Fire destroyed about 90 percent of Cosmo Extended stay in Benton Harbor in the southwestern part of the state, on the shores of Lake Michigan. At that time, 27 rooms were occupied.
Leroy Johnson, who lives in the motel, told the station that the fire could have fired inside his room.
