My heart breaks for Tony Bourdain. May he rest in peace now. He was a friend, a collaborator, and family. A huge personality, a giant talent, a unique voice, and deeply, deeply human. My heart goes out to his daughter and family, and his longtime partners and friends at ZPZ.

Bourdain’s profile began to rise in 1999 when the New Yorker magazine published the article “Do not Read Before You Read”, which will be developed in the 2000 book “Cook’s Intimacy: Adventures in Culinary Belly”.
He continued to host television programs, first in the Food Network and Travel Channel before joining CNN in 2013.
“His love of great adventure, new friends, great food and drink, and remarkable stories from the world made him a unique story,” the network said in a statement. “His talent never surprised us and we miss him a lot.”
Bourdain told New York City in 2017 that his idea of ”Parts of the Unknown”, which was in his 11th season, was traveling, eating and doing what he wanted. The show featured meals both in restaurants outside the home and in the homes of local residents, making the magazine called “community with alien culture so indisputable that it feels virtually intravenous.”
Bourdain’s celebrity was such that when Obama arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam in May 2016, he met him in a casual restaurant where he had a meal of noodles and grilled pork.
President Donald Trump told reporters when he left the White House that Bourdain’s death was “very shocking“.
I liked it very much, it was quite a character, “Trump said.
“I was sorry to have heard of the deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, RIP,” actor Bryan Cranston, best known for the Breaking Bad television show, on Twitter. “This shows that success is not immune to depression.”
